Peter Chapman, MD, FACC
Dr. Peter Chapman, a cardiology and electrophysiology expert, has over 40 years of medical experience. He is experienced in all areas including cardiac arrhythmia ablation and management of atrial fibrillation. At Lake Country Medical Group, he assesses patients’ needs for curative ablation, defibrillators and pacemakers. His arrhythmia management expertise, coupled with the use of advanced technology, provides patients with a thorough assessment of electrical problems in the heart.
Dr. Chapman performs electrophysiology studies and tilt table tests for the assessment of fainting and dizziness symptoms. Additionally, he implants permanent pacemakers and defibrillators.
Dr. Chapman is credited with implanting the first transvenous defibrillator in the world in 1987. He also performed the first radio frequency ablation procedure and the first sterotaxis procedure in Wisconsin. Additionally, he has authored or co-authored more than 90 scientific publications.
He received his medical degree from the State University of New York in Syracuse, NY, where he graduated first in his class, Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI and his fellowship in cardiology and electrophysiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI.
Dr. Chapman is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology and electrophysiology. He is a member of the Heart Rhythm Society and the American College of Cardiology.
